Local lady Kathleen O Connor who celebrated her 93rd Birthday last week has achieved another remarkable achievement in raising a whooping €1,431 in just over three and half hours from the sale of a range of some 300 items of handcrafted Easter Choc-Chicks and Easter bonnet pin-cushions, which she knitted to raise money for Castleblayney Cancer Society and the local St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Operating a special stall at the Glencarn Shopping Centre outside Supervalu, Kathleen succeeded in raising €600 for each charity and was also able to donate the remainder of the takings which amounted to €231, to the local Lourdes Fund.
Kathleen also has the great support in her amazing charity work of her dedicated helpers Terry Burns, Margie Hughes and Stephen Marron and of course her three daughter Una, Rosina and Eimear, her nine grand-children and even her four great-grandchildren.
Keep up the great work Kathleen.
