WHAT IS IT?
A 210 km leisure cycle leaving Castleblayney going to Beaumont Hospital and back again in one day.
WHEN?
On Sunday July 3rd 2016 leaving at 7am and arriving back at 7pm.
WHY?
“Our aim is to raise funds to benefit Castleblayney Cancer Society and The Irish Cancer Society. We will raise awareness for these two great charities and the work they do and we will show our friends and loved ones that have to make this journey to get their life saving treatment that they are not alone.”
WHO DO WE WANT?
This is an event we want everyone to take part in as we feel the more people we have involved then the more the two charities will benefit.
As this is a leisure cycle and not a race then no matter what level of a cyclist you are we have it designed to suit you.
Even if you haven't sat on a bicycle for years then you have 24 weeks to set yourself a target of how far you would like to go and as a group we will complete the challenge.
If you are an accomplished cyclist then the distance is still a nice challenge and your experience and encouragement to help others along on the day will be invaluable.
Even if you won't be able to cycle then we still will need you to get involved as we will need volunteers to help before during and after the event.
Please register your interest here https://www.facebook.com/events/1644519049134278/ and invite anyone you think might be interested in taking part.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED.
A bicycle!! It doesn't have to be expensive or fancy but it does have to be in reasonable condition with good tyres and brakes. A helmet will be a must have and cycling shorts will be advisable.
HOW CAN YOU DONATE?
We feel that working as a group rather than as individuals will give better results so we won't be asking cyclists to get any sponsorship.
Of course if anyone still wants to raise sponsorship then a card can be arranged by contacting a member named below.
We will be organising a few sponsorship drives closer to the date of the cycle and donations can be made then. Or By paying direct into the CtoBtoC account in Castleblayney credit union. Or To the individual charities via www.cancer.ie Or Www.castleblayneycancersociety.com
All cyclists will have to pay a very small registration fee prior to cycling which will cover their insurance for the event and include a donation to the charities.
All money raised will be split equally between both charities.

We will be holding an information and registration night closer to the time but in the meantime for any questions, queries, input or advice or to offer your help or make a donation please don't hesitate to contact blaneybeaumont1@yahoo.ie Gordon Lavelle 0894233274 Catherine Lavelle 0892119036 Greg Duffy 0872516338
